As a coach on FieldLevel, your primary roles are to grow your network by connecting with college coaches and to collaborate with your athletes to help them find the best opportunities to play at the next level.

So, what’s the best way to work with your athletes during the recruiting process?

Coach's Role

Add + Evaluate Your Athletes: Adding players who you believe can play at the next level to your roster and evaluating their profile is the 1st major step for coaches: Evaluating My Athletes

Connect With College Coaches: Being a verified coach on FieldLevel helps you grow your network of college coaches and expand your reach to help your players find even more opportunities.

Help Identify Colleges To Target: Both you and your athletes can use the College Search Tool to research schools together and target specific programs. You can also suggest colleges for your athletes to add to their Target Lists by sending them direct messages.

Promote Athletes: Getting your players in front of the right college coaches is easy on FieldLevel as you have the ability to promote your players. This is a powerful tool to use as a coach to help your players throughout the recruiting process: Promoting My Players

Growth + Development: You should always help your athletes grow and develop as student-athletes both on and off the field/court.

Communicate With Athletes: Talk with your athletes about your coaching network, where they might be a good fit, which schools are on their Target Lists, and what they should continue to work on.

Communicate With College Coaches: As college coaches reach out to you about your players and their recruiting needs, communicating this info to your athletes can be helpful and certainly relieve anxiety.

Athlete's Role

Build a Great Profile: Athletes are responsible for completing their profiles for you to provide the most updated info to college coaches. Besides your coach evaluation, athletes should add their academic information, build their Target School List, add video, etc.

Constantly Update + Revise: Athletes should constantly update their profiles with the most up-to-date video, academic info, transcripts, etc.

Be a Student-Athlete: It's important for athletes to work just as hard in the classroom as they do at practice, during games, and in the weight room. They should always remember the importance of academics, but shouldn't disqualify themselves from college opportunities because of grades or test scores.

Communicate With You: Athletes should communicate with you regarding their Target List, which colleges are good fit for them right now, and what can be done to improve and create more opportunities.

Finally, as we’ve worked with high school and college coaches over the years, we’ve heard one piece of consistent feedback regarding athletes and their profiles:

"If it appears a student-athlete isn’t taking the recruiting process seriously, I can’t take that student-athlete seriously.”
