Standing Vertical Jump
With both your player's feet planted evenly on the ground and not moving, measure (in feet and inches) how high the player can reach with one arm over his head.
Next, measure (in feet and inches) how high the player can jump and touch with one hand.
Subtract the two measurements to find your player's vertical jump.
Shuttle Run
Place 5 cones down in a straight line, one at the baseline, closest free throw line, half court, far free-throw line, and the far baseline.
Starting at the 1st cone facing parallel to the line created by the cones, measure the amount of time it takes the player to perform the following steps:
Touch the 2nd cone with hand
Return and touch the 1st cone with hand
Run and touch the 3rd cone with hand
Return and touch the 1st cone with hand
Run and touch the 4th cone with hand
Return and touch the 1st cone with hand
Run and touch the 5th cone with hand
Return and cross the finish line created with the 1st cone
Max Vertical Jump
With both your player's feet planted evenly on the ground and not moving, measure (in feet and inches) how high the player can reach with one arm over his head.
However, unlike the "Standing Vertical Jump" where the player must have both feet planted on the ground, the player can run and jump to touch as high as they can.
Subtract the two measurements to find your player's vertical jump.
3/4 Sprint
Record the amount of time it takes your player to sprint from the baseline to the farthest free throw line.
Lane Agility Drill
Using 4 cones, place one cone at the 4 corners of the key or lane, forming a rectangle. Two cones should be on the corners of where the baseline meets the lane lines, and two cones should be on the corners where the free throw line meets the lane lines.
Starting at 1st cone located at the top right of the rectangle where the free throw line meets the lane line, measure the amount of time it takes the player to perform the following steps:
Run to the second cone
Still facing forward, shuffle sideways to the right towards the 3rd cone
Backpedal from the 3rd cone to the 4th cone
Still facing forward, shuffle sideways to the left towards the 1st cone
Touch the 1st cone with hand
Still facing forward, shuffle sideways to the right towards the 4th cone
Sprint forward towards the 3rd cone
Still facing forward, shuffle sideways to the left towards the 2nd cone
Backpedal past the 1st cone
