Key metrics for tennis
Here’s a breakdown of the specific metrics for tennis you can include in your FieldLevel profile and why they matter:

  • Universal Tennis Rating (UTR): a global tennis player rating system intended to produce an objective, consistent, and accurate index of players' skill in the game of tennis. UTR rates all players on a single 16-point scale, without regard to age, gender, nationality, or locale of a given match.

  • World Tennis Number: provides a global standard for players. It is a 40-1 scale, with 40 being a beginner player and 1 being an elite professional. This scale is for all players, regardless of age, gender, or ability.

  • USTA NTRP Rating: is a numerical indicator of tennis-playing ability, from 1.5 (beginner) through 7.0 (touring pro), which aligns with a set of general characteristics that break down the skills and abilities of each level, in 0.5 increments.

  • Serve speed: speed (in miles per hour) of a players fastest serve.

  • Forehand speed: speed (in miles per hour) of a players fastest forehand.

  • Backhand speed: speed (in miles per hour) of a players fastest backhand.

How to add performance metrics to your profile

  1. Log in to your FieldLevel profile.

  2. Navigate to the "Performance" section.

  3. Select "Add metric" or "Update metric" to update existing metrics.

  4. Fill in your metrics with the most recent and accurate information.

  5. Don’t forget to save your changes.
